Southwest Texas Junior College
Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC) provides educational opportunities to an 11-county service area of rural southwest Texas on the Mexican border. Our enrollment of approximately 7000 students is nearly evenly divided between traditional students and high school students taking college courses for dual credit. The main campus is in Uvalde, and we operate full-service campuses in Del Rio and Eagle Pass, and a small center in Crystal City.
During our 75-year existence we have made notable gains in providing higher education access to a remote and economically challenged clientele. Open Educational Resources have become a staple for such access, especially for students in the 26 Independent School Districts with which we partner.
