Universitas Terbuka (Indonesian Open University)
Universitas Terbuka (UT) is a large open, university system, established as the 45th Indonesian state university in 1984 as a part of the Indonesian Governments national strategy to improve participation in higher education. Being the only university in Indonesia that teaches entirely by means of distance education, UT has more than 600 000 students in different parts of the country. 95% of the students are working adults. Since its foundation UT has enrolled over 1,5 million students and produced over 1 million alumni. There are 37 Regional Offices all over Indonesia serving about 650,000 students.
