Thanh Do University

Thanh Do University (TDU) was founded on 2009, as the first private institution in Vietnam to provide undergraduate programmes, with the vision to establish itself as a leading educational institution in Vietnam in terms of both application and practice. Currently, TDU provides 13 full-time training programmes across diverse fields including Technology, Business & Social Sciences, and Health. Beyond traditional undergraduate degrees, TDU provides diverse options, include postgraduate programmes, part-time programmes, distance learning programmes, as well as intermediate to bachelor's and associate to bachelor's programmes.

In 2020, TDU was one of the first 40 educational institutions in the ASEAN region to receive a 3-star rating from the University Performance Metrics (UPM) network under the application-oriented standards. In 2021, the university was officially acknowledged as meeting the national quality standards for higher education institutions. In 2023. TDU is recognised for its emphasis on applied orientation and is ranked among the top five private higher education institutions in ASEAN in terms of employability, as per the Private University Ranking ASEAN 2023 by Applied HE.

Open Education and Science Resource digital library

The Open Education and Science Resource digital library (oesr.thanhdo.edu.vn) collected and disseminated open materials (mainly textbooks). The basic material in each document is translated into Vietnamese to make it more visible to Vietnamese audiences. It now has around 300 volumes and a few university research publications.

Handbook of Open Education and Open Science: a Practical Guideline for Researcher and Lecturers

This book provides readers with fundamental ideas behind open education resources and open science (OER&OS), along with guidance in integrating OER&OS practices at the individual and institutional levels. The book contains two main chapters: open education resources and open science. Each chapter is divided into several small segments that provide introductory information about the various components of the open movement. For each of these components, the book introduces a variety of essential and popular platforms and tools, as well as direction for readers on how to incorporate them into their research and teaching.
